TechFlow news, July 22, according to CryptoSlate, U.S. Federal Election Commission documents show that Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss donated Bitcoin worth a total of $10.018 million to the pro-Trump super political action committee MAGA Inc. on June 19, 2026. Relevant records also show that this batch of Bitcoin was subsequently sold through Gemini; the appearance of the Gemini name in the documents does not indicate a separate donation by them.
This donation occurred 23 days after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) joined Gemini in seeking to vacate or relax parts of the 2025 judgment. The report pointed out that existing records only reflect a chronological relationship; there is currently no evidence indicating that the donation influenced the CFTC's decision, nor is there evidence showing coordination or exchange of benefits between the two parties.
The CFTC stated that reasons for its adjusted position include issues with witness credibility, insufficient evidentiary support, procedural defects, and changes in the federal digital asset policy environment. According to the relevant motion, the $5 million fine already paid by Gemini will not be refunded.
