From PVP to PPP: Jupiter's Founder Aims to Revolutionize Token Culture with a PPP-Style Mutual Support Community
One of the most important things in this cycle is shifting cryptocurrency from a PVP mindset to a PPP mindset.

Meow, co-founder of Jupiter, recently published an article advocating for the construction of PPP (Player-Powered-Player) crypto communities, calling it essential for the long-term development of the cryptocurrency industry. What is PPP, and why does Meow believe PPP-style communities are so important? Below is the full article.
One of the most important shifts in this cycle is moving cryptocurrency from a PVP (Player-vs-Player) mindset to a PPP (Player-Powered-Player) mindset.
The difference:
-
A PPP (player helps player) community wants even the last person joining to benefit
-
A PVP (player versus player) community hopes the last person joining becomes their profit "window"
By definition, PPP is an infinite game, while PVP is implicitly a finite game with a clear endpoint—where the last one holding loses.
But why is the PVP model so prevalent that most outsiders—and even many insiders—believe crypto is fundamentally a PVP game?
Because PVP-style "communities" form easily. The shared consensus among members is that by attracting more people to buy the tokens they hold, they become wealthier (thanks to the magical token issuance model), so they should do everything possible ("pyramid selling" the token).
In contrast, forming a PPP-style community is extremely difficult because the focus cannot be on luring others in just to abandon them later. Instead, it must center on building more allies and collaboratively creating a shared long-term future.
That said, crypto’s future will undoubtedly be PPP-driven, because even if 99.999% of new "communities" follow the PVP model, the ones that sustainably thrive are all PPP-based.
Great communities like BTC, ETH, SOL (and hopefully JUP) share one key trait: they are committed to helping every newcomer benefit from joining the network, rather than treating them as mere bagholders.
PPP will ultimately prevail because:
-
It combines the best thinking in crypto—shared vision with inherent profitability
-
It is neither cynical nor delusional, but blends idealism with pragmatism
-
It is the only path forward for the crypto industry, as no community can survive by consuming itself from within
Yet today, crypto has gained a notorious reputation as a PVP-dominated industry. Public perception often sees greedy speculators creating and promoting "magical" internet money, saying whatever it takes to get others to take the bags.
The core problem with this perception is that even the most sincere crypto builders often feel there's some truth to it.
All we can do is actively reject PVP-style communities and instead invest our time, energy, and effort into cultivating real relationships and expertise within PPP-style communities—rather than engaging in the short-term cannibalism of PVP environments.
If we keep devouring each other instead of nurturing one another, soon there will be no one left to consume (much like the current market situation—few newcomers, little new capital).
Crypto may be an industry with absolutely no restrictions on choice—individuals can pick any type of game mode or community.
But we recommend choosing the PPP model.
