Afroman Confirmed to Speak at Bitcoin 2026 Following Landmark Victory in Free Speech Battle
Nashville, Tennessee — March 30, 2026: The Bitcoin Conference today announced that legendary rapper, cultural pioneer, and free speech advocate Afroman will attend Bitcoin 2026, taking place April 27–29 at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
Afroman rose to global fame with his 2001 hit “Because I Got High,” but over the past three years, he has waged a legal battle extending far beyond music. In 2022, after law enforcement officers searched his home without success, Afroman responded by releasing music composed from surveillance footage. This sparked a defamation lawsuit filed by seven officers seeking nearly $4 million in damages. Earlier this month, a jury ruled in Afroman’s favor. Standing outside the courthouse, he declared: “This isn’t my victory—it’s America’s.”This journey closely mirrors Bitcoin’s core ethos.
Bitcoin has become a platform for individuals to resist overreach and assert sovereignty—both financial and expressive.
