TechFlow News, June 20: Tencent’s customer service stated that WeChat Xiao Wei (an intelligent assistant) is a native AI assistant developed by the WeChat team and currently undergoing limited internal testing. It remains in the testing phase. According to the representative, Xiao Wei supports operating native WeChat functions via text or voice conversations—for example, adjusting settings, sending messages, and making phone calls. Xiao Wei currently leverages multiple AI models, including both self-developed models from Tencent and high-quality open-source models. “Xiao Wei’s gray-scale testing currently covers multiple systems; specific eligibility criteria are subject to the actual display on the interface,” the representative added.
