TechFlow News, June 16: According to a Reuters report, in response to market rumors that Binance’s EU license application submitted to Greek regulators is expected to be rejected, a Binance spokesperson stated that the company has maintained constructive dialogue with regulators over the past 18 months, fully completed the application process with Greek regulators, and believes it has met all relevant requirements under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. Binance also understands that regulators have completed their review and consider the application compliant; however, as of now, Greek regulators have not formally expressed any objections.
Under the EU’s new MiCA regulation, crypto firms must obtain a license by the end of June to continue operating across the EU. The Hellenic Capital Market Commission stated that, due to confidentiality requirements, it cannot currently comment on Binance’s license application.
