TechFlow News, June 14: According to Reuters, citing senior Iranian officials, a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) currently under discussion between the U.S. and Iran indicates that Tehran has agreed not to produce or acquire nuclear weapons and plans to dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium domestically; implementation mechanisms will be further negotiated within the next 60 days.
According to sources, the draft MOU also covers a series of arrangements in the energy and shipping sectors. Specifically, the U.S. intends to waive certain sanctions on Iranian oil exports within a specified timeframe, allowing Iran to continue selling oil and receiving related revenues.
Regarding shipping, the draft stipulates that Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international commercial vessels, while the U.S. will lift related maritime blockade measures to restore regional shipping order.
Additionally, sources stated that the U.S. has agreed to release approximately $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets, with the release mechanism potentially including cash transfers, regional cooperation frameworks, and financial credit lines, among other forms.
