TechFlow news, July 7. According to a post by YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon (@gabusch), YGG officially announced the closure of its Web3 game publishing division YGG Play. The layoffs will affect 35 positions; the company promised to provide affected employees with an additional 8 weeks of pay and assist in finding new positions. YGG Play's games "LOL Land" and "Waifu Sweeper" along with the platform will officially shut down on July 31; among them, GIGACHADBAT will return to delabs, and RagnarokBreaker will continue to be operated by Planetarium. Although YGG Play is ceasing operations, YGG will retain a small team, return to its gaming community roots, and pivot to selling game training data to AI labs.
