TechFlow reports that on June 26, Bitmine, an Ethereum treasury company listed on the Nasdaq, announced it will be added to the Russell 1000 Index effective June 26. Last month, Bitmine disclosed that its market capitalization had surpassed the minimum threshold of $5.7 billion required for inclusion in the Russell 1000 Index—a large-cap index measuring the overall performance of approximately the 1,000 largest U.S.-listed companies. Following this disclosure, Bitmine was placed on the preliminary candidate list. Many active fund managers invest in Russell 1000 Index constituents, and it is estimated that passive index funds or ETFs hold 20–25% of the total market capitalization of these constituents.
