TechFlow News, June 25: Serenity—dubbed the “White-Haired Stock God”—posted on X today stating that Micron Technology’s CEO made highly noteworthy remarks today, predicting that humanoid robots will drive a multi-decade storage demand cycle. Memory requirements for humanoid robots could be roughly ten times those of current L2+ autonomous vehicles, and this wave of demand is expected to begin before the end of this decade.
Additionally, Micron’s CEO noted that growth in the memory market will be propelled by rising value of on-device AI and the release of pent-up device upgrade demand. Although Apple’s Apple Intelligence has underperformed thus far, breakthrough innovations remain possible in localized AI and edge AI. Today, industry leaders—including TSMC’s Chairman, Elon Musk, and Micron’s CEO—are all identifying humanoid robots as the next major trend, suggesting that “physical AI” may represent the next phase of AI development.
