TechFlow News, June 25: According to Xinhua News Agency, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate held a press conference today. Miao Shengming, Deputy Procurator-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, stated that procuratorial organs are thoroughly investigating and prosecuting both “self-laundering” and “third-party laundering” offenses, vigorously advancing the recovery of assets related to drug crimes, and ensuring comprehensive prosecution of money laundering linked to narcotics offenses. From January last year through May this year, over 1,200 individuals involved in drug-related money laundering crimes have been prosecuted. In a major cross-border case involving smuggling, trafficking, and transportation of narcotics and money laundering—handled by Chongqing procuratorial organs under special supervision by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate—defendant Li Moubo laundered more than RMB 48 million via virtual currencies and was lawfully sentenced to death for multiple crimes.
