TechFlow News, June 14: According to CNN, U.S. President Trump stated that the U.S.-Iran agreement is scheduled to be signed on Sunday and claimed that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen following the signing. However, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran denied that a definitive Sunday signing arrangement exists and criticized the timeline as overly hasty, noting that the current agreement framework has not yet been finalized.
The report states that U.S. officials indicated the agreement would be signed remotely if reached, to minimize the risk of negotiations being disrupted by in-person meetings. Additionally, this memorandum of understanding may initiate a new 60-day negotiation cycle aimed at further refining implementation details.
Significant disagreements remain between the two sides on core agreement issues—including arrangements for Iran’s nuclear program, regional proxy forces, and the disposition of frozen assets—making the overall progress of the agreement highly uncertain.
