The source added that Iran is currently developing a new plan to manage tanker passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and the above-mentioned potential measure is being proposed within this context. CNN noted that international oil trade is currently conducted almost entirely in U.S. dollars, with the sole exception being sanctioned Russian oil, which is traded in rubles or yuan.
