TechFlow News, March 12: Noah Levine, Partner at a16z, announced that Coinbase’s x402 protocol has been integrated by Stripe, Cloudflare, and Vercel, and Google has also incorporated x402 into its agent payment protocol.
However, statistics on on-chain payments initiated by AI agents via the x402 protocol vary significantly across different sources.
Bloomberg, citing data from x402.org, reported that AI agent payments totaled $24 million over the past 30 days; Allium Labs, an on-chain analytics platform, recorded approximately $3 million for the same period; and OnchainLu, an analyst at Artemis Analytics, further adjusted this figure to $1.6 million after filtering out wash trades.
