Yesterday's Market Dynamics
U.S. January seasonally adjusted non-farm payroll employment rose by 143,000, the lowest since October last year
U.S. January seasonally adjusted non-farm payroll employment increased by 143,000, significantly below the market expectation of 170,000 and marking the lowest level since October last year. The expected figure was 170,000, while the previous value was revised upward from 256,000 to 307,000.
BNB Chain proposes countermeasures against malicious MEV
According to official announcements, to combat malicious MEV behavior, BNB Chain has launched a community governance proposal calling on block builders, RPC nodes, validators, and DApps to jointly prevent "sandwich" attacks.
The proposal advocates removing bad actors—revoking permissions from malicious block builders—and voting out validators that tolerate such activities. Additionally, BNB Chain plans to upgrade its mempool in 2025 to prevent transaction frontrunning.
Currently, BNB Chain has partnered with leading wallets including Trust, Binance Wallet, OKX Wallet, and Mathwallet to enable MEV protection features for users against sandwich attacks. The proposal is now gathering community votes and encourages users to report MEV attackers and avoid using insecure RPCs.
Story releases $IP tokenomics, with 58.4% allocated to community and ecosystem
Layer1 intellectual property blockchain project Story has officially unveiled its $IP token economic model. The total supply of $IP tokens is 1 billion, with an initial unlock ratio of 25%. In the distribution plan, 38.4% goes to the ecosystem and community, 10% to initial incentives, 10% to the foundation, 21.6% to early investors, and 20% to early contributors.
Regarding staking mechanisms, Story will adopt a fair launch principle. During the 42-day singularity period following the genesis block on January 19, 2025, users can participate in staking but will not receive rewards. Staking rewards will only begin after the singularity period ends. $IP tokens will primarily be used for staking, paying gas fees, and governance functions.
Matrixport: Solana whales are shifting profits into Bitcoin as meme coin market cools down
A recent Matrixport report indicates that the number of wallets holding more than 10,000 SOL has noticeably decreased over the past two months, suggesting large holders are cashing out. At the same time, the meme coin market is cooling off. Data from Pump.fun shows that daily meme coin issuance dropped by 16% within 30 days, and daily trading volume sharply declined from a peak of 71,738 transactions on January 23.
The report notes that the sharp drop of Trump-themed meme coins (Trump) from $60 to $20 severely undermined retail investor confidence. Although Raydium (RAY) has seen recent price increases, early Solana investors are redirecting their profits into Bitcoin. This capital rotation explains why Bitcoin remains relatively resilient amid broad altcoin corrections. Furthermore, despite Ethereum reducing transaction fees in March 2024, it has failed to gain significant traction in the current meme coin trend due to user experience and cost issues.

While not specifying which nations would be affected, he said the action would impact "everyone." Trump also mentioned considering tariffs on automobiles and plans to impose tariffs on imported goods such as steel, pharmaceuticals, oil, and metals in the coming months.

Prominent crypto analyst Miles Deutscher posted on X, stating that the current market decline is more painful than the 2022 FTX collapse.
