TechFlow News, April 2, according to a BeInCrypto report, Tokyo-based consulting firm Clabo surveyed 1,486 Japanese respondents in February 2026 and found that Japan’s Gen Z exhibits significantly higher vigilance against social media scams in the cryptocurrency space than other generations; fake giveaways and suspicious promotions are their primary concerns. In contrast, older demographics tend to be skeptical of cryptocurrencies mainly due to “not understanding how they work.”
The survey also revealed that half of the respondents have never invested in cryptocurrencies, while only 33.7% currently hold digital assets—with Millennials showing the highest investment participation rate. Regarding information sources, YouTube is the top platform for Japanese users making crypto-investment decisions, accounting for 27%.
