TechFlow News: On March 20, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) officially announced that it has signed its first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Major League Baseball (MLB), establishing an information-sharing and collaboration framework in the area of baseball-related prediction markets. The agreement aims to strengthen the integrity of professional baseball events and foster cooperation on potential risks within prediction markets—including fraud, market manipulation, and other misconduct. Under the MOU, both parties will share information within the bounds of applicable legal frameworks to respond more swiftly to relevant incidents and proactively identify emerging trends. CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig stated that this initiative will help enhance the integrity and resilience of prediction markets and provide regulators with additional tools to protect market participants.
