TechFlow News, March 11: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi announced that Japan will independently release its strategic petroleum reserves to mitigate the impact of the Middle East conflict. Speaking on NHK on Wednesday, Takaichi stated that the release could begin as early as March 16, involving volumes equivalent to 15 days of private-sector oil reserves and one month of national oil reserves. This move coincides with the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) proposal to release emergency oil reserves—a release potentially representing the largest in the IEA’s history—with a formal decision expected later on Wednesday. Additionally, Germany’s Economics Minister indicated that Germany will also release part of its national oil reserves, though specific details remain to be finalized. (Jinshi)
