Farcaster Top 100 Celebrities List
20 must-follow celebrities, 15 active Chinese users, 20 developers/tech experts, 35 founders/investors/professional managers, and 25 lifestyle bloggers/artists.
The Farcaster protocol is open and decentralized, while Warpcast is centrally governed by its official team—the tension inherent in this contradiction has shaped the unique ecosystem of Farcaster and Warpcast today.
This article curates Warpcast's top 100 notable figures to help readers quickly build a high-quality feed.
Historical Evolution
Initially, Warpcast operated under an invitation-only model. Dan Romero personally reviewed Twitter DMs and invited users one by one, manually onboarding the first 10,000 users. For a long time, daily active users remained around 1,000. After introducing Channels, content became better organized, increasing DAU to approximately 2,000—still a tight-knit community.
The vibe of Warpcast’s core group of 2,000 users was largely shaped by Dan’s personal preferences: he despised financialization, encouraged building, and promoted sharing life experiences. The initial invitees fell into three broad categories:
(1) Coinbase affiliates: such as Balaji, Brian Armstrong, Jesse, and dev, due to Dan’s former role as a Coinbase executive and the fact that Farcaster protocol assets are issued on the Base chain.
(2) VC firms like a16z: including Mark Anderson, Chris Dixon, Linda Xie, Li Jing, because a16z led Farcaster’s seed round.
(3) Ethereum ecosystem participants: nearly all major Ethereum projects maintain accounts on Farcaster, and many Ethereum developers are active here—partly due to Dan’s preference for builders, and partly because Vitalik regularly shares updates on the platform.
In January, the explosive wealth effect of degen attracted a wave of new users. The influx of opportunistic “羊毛党” (wool-farming crowd) disrupted Warpcast’s tranquility. However, as the degen hype faded, the dust settled, revealing that Warpcast’s foundational character remains unchanged—because the core social graph is the soul of any community. These early three groups served as ballast stones for the Farcaster ship, preventing speculative winds from capsizing it. In contrast to Twitter, which resembles public media, Farcaster feels more like a private friend circle: Twitter influencers are generally expected to share alpha, project research, and industry insights, whereas Farcaster’s top users tend to discuss new products or ideas, life reflections, and philosophical thoughts.
Every participant in the ecosystem matters. This list is unordered and inevitably incomplete—it serves merely as a reference for newcomers to integrate into the Farcaster ecosystem.
